Being single over the holidays is not actually that bad. Yes couples will be everywhere and you will potentially feel a little melancholy but the good news is it really isn’t that bad because there are so many other things in life.
Spending the holidays alone doesn’t tie you down to certain parties, being single enables you to bounce from holiday party to holiday party without any obligation to any particular party. It gives you some time to get closer to good friends and family. It can be fun to converse with couples in love, learn about their love story and how they met and then sit back and dream about your future love story.
It also gives you time to really get to know yourself. It is important to indulge yourself enough to pursue your own dreams and never let anyone mistake you for the girl without a life, career goals, or mind of her own. It really gives you time to explore your own life passions.
Use the money you would have spent on getting your boyfriend or girlfriend a gift to treat yourself to a spa day or buy a video game. Treat yourself to your favourite foods without having to worry about whether someone else will like your taste as well.
It all comes down to just allowing yourself to go into the holidays with a positive attitude. I can assure you that a positive attitude and positive thoughts will allow your holidays to be much more enjoyable. You’re always most attractive when your happy and comfortable with yourself.
Take time to look around during the holidays to appreciate the little things in life. You are too young to be married and there is no pressure beyond school. You might be surprised that an open mind and positive attitude during this peaceful season is the very thing that will attract that special someone. New Years Eve will open up some great party options, and think about how exciting it will be to be able to pick and choose what you want to do for the big bash. You’re even free to throw your own party and have your closest friends bring their other single friends. You’re free to host girls nights or boys nights, and don’t forget the mistletoe!
